My first New Year's

I'm sleepy...

Walking in a winter wonderland.

I woke up happy as usual this morning, and when Mommy picked me up, I looked out the window. Guess what I saw? Snow! It looked like a cargo plane full of cotton just blew up, and covered everything! If only it wasn't so cold.

Bicycle Theory

My mommy is crazy! She thinks that I can sit without my Boppy. As if. I can't sit without protection. I need safety! I need assurance!

I will not sit alone.

"I'm leaving on a jetplane..."

This morning, I knew something was going on. Everyone was running around and I wasn't going to miss a minute of it. Unfortunately for everyone else, that meant no naps. (Well, I snuck one in...) Anyway, I finally figured out what was going on. We were leaving!
The trip to the airport was fairly uneventful. Y'know, the usual - sitting, talking, farting... When we arrived, there was so much goodbye-ing that it was almost smothering (only almost). It was so depressing to leave everyone. Who was supposed to spoil me in Minnesota? My kiss quota would decrease dramatically, not to mention the number of people I could talk to.
The plane ride was pretty boring. All I did was drink some formula, then I fell asleep. When I woke up, my tummy felt a little funny, and then...

(Man's voice, like on old T.V. shows) Tune in next time to find out what happened on the plane!

Just kidding! What happened was this: I threw up all over Mommy, me AND Frida my firefly!

Daddy had to change me in the bathroom while Mommy tried to clean me up with wet paper towels. Since the extra outfit they had packed would be too warm for the plane I borrowed one of Daddy's undershirts. Mommy thought I looked like an angel with it on! And since her clothes were all wet she had to wear some of Daddy's clothing too.

After all the excitement, and quite a bit of talking and dancing, I decided to fall asleep again. Next thing I knew we were in Minnesota!

The gift that keeps on giving. Wrapping paper.

I opened all of my presents. I played with all of my new toys. I tried on my new clothes. What a busy day! And then I got bored. What to do, what to do? I asked, while twiddling my thumbs. Then, it dawned on me. The living room, which had previously been neat and tidy, was strewn with the remains of present wrappings. So Daddy and I jumped in and had a blast! I chewed on it, and smashed it, and kicked it. *sigh* It was awesome!

Mommy (and her sisters) monkeying around

It's Christmas!

Oh my goodness, it was so fun today! I woke up, and I talked to my imaginary friends before Mommy took me to the Aunties and to Daddy to wake them up too. Those sleepy heads wouldn't get up early, even on Christmas morning. How absolutely silly! Anyway, when everyone finally got up, we all went downstairs, and were about to begin opening presents round the tree, when some people realized that they had forgotten to wrap a few! I was so frustrated because I was sleepy, and destraught, and generally grumpy. Thankfully, Auntie Kelsey had yummy knuckles for me to chew on. After maybe 20 minutes of running around like chickens without heads, everyone (Mommy, Daddy, Auntie Kelsey and Auntie Laina, Lola, Opa, and Kersten) sat down in the living room and I got to tear off the paper of these boxes!!

How exciting.

My very favoritest gift was a set of my very own keys from my grandparents. They were oh so tasty. After present-opening, we popped in Mommy's new Johnny Cash cd. She and Daddy tried to sing the Jackson duet, but they didn't really know the words... but I learned a new word! It's Son of a - (*background* Nemmie, don't you dare say that online!! That's a bad word. Bad!) Oh, well, never mind about that.
Then we ate lunch (I had Christmas milk and Christmas bananas) and began the second installment of our Star Wars marathon. Mommy is starting me early and infusing me with the Star Wars universe. I love all the pretty lights. Hee hee! Yoda is my role model! He's so small and quick. I'm going to grow up to be just like him.
Speaking of Star Wars, I was sitting admiring my daddy, when I saw something black behind him. Lo and behold, there was Darth Vader, standing in the kitchen! I alerted Noor, my noble steed and head of security, immediately, but she could not defeat him. That's when I realized that it wasn't Darth Vader at all. It was just Opa, wearing the mask that the Aunties and my parental units got him for Christmas. What a relief that was!

The Adventures of Princess Honeydew

I was driving in my royal carriage yesterday, on my way to pick up my daddy from the airport. We were terribly late because my mommy looked at the wrong arrival time, and thought that Daddy was coming later. Anyway, it took forever to find Daddy, since he wasn't answering his phone. I sent out Mommy and Auntie Laina to scout the area (and take advantage of the bathroom). After a while, though, they located my Daddy, and we lived happily ever after! Almost. You see, everyone was in the royal carriage and ready to go. I was so incredibly sleepy, but I had to say hello to Daddy! Then, disaster (almost) struck! We were driving down the freeway, when suddenly, out of nowhere, a car started drifting into our lane! Thankfully, my dear Opa has excellent driving skills, and was able to avoid the horrible fate that was about to claim us all. Hip hip hooray for Opa!

Toesies and posies.

Yay! I reached a milestone in my physical development today. At least that's what Auntie Kelsey says. I was just glad to taste my toes! They were soft and squishy, with a hint of banana and milk. Mommy thinks I should do yoga on account of my amazing flexibility, but I don't know what's so amazing! Can't everybody eat their toes?

Quack.

There's me and Auntie Laina. Oops, I mean Ms. Big Duck and Little Miss Duck. Quack quack.

Today.

Working hard to keep y'all updated, since I'm already seven (months). Thankfully, Mommy and Daddy taught me how to type at an early age. Daddy's a Genius, after all!

Little Miss Bright Eyes.

This is me in October. I'm sporting Daddy's hat and shirt, while perusing the local wildlife. I'm just so retro-chic!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to the cutest baby in the world! The purpose of this blog is so that we can post pictures and stuff about Nemmie, considering that she has family in the Philippines, North Dakota, North Carolina, etc. Huzzah for the internet! What would we do without thee?
