Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

More "First Cousins Once Removed"...

Ashley and Brooke! Their older brother, Justin, is sadly not in the picture... and most likely what they are looking at!

(They are only two months younger than me and their Mommy is Opa's older sister - Aunt Paula.)

An Afternoon at Play

Mommy says I've become quite the little scientist. The truth is, I can't help myself! There are so many things to touch, and feel, and taste... For instance, above is a picture of me and dear Sally. Her hair is absolutely wonderful. It has the texture of a finely woven textile, and tastes like toast! Can you get any better than that?

Ello, would you like to play scientist with me? Here is a blue...apparatus...thing... you can hit stuff with it! *banging ensues*

Nooooo!!!! I WON'T GO TO BED!! I'M GOING TO KEEP PLAYING SCIENTIST! I NEED TO LEARN! IT'S MY C A L L I N G! I NEED...I need... to... I need to... *zzzzzzzzz*

the aftermath

Mommy was finally able to find some teething biscuits for me that were wheat free!

At first I didn't know what it was that Mommy had given to me. It certainly didn't taste or feel like anything else I had put in mouth. But once I saw Mommy and Daddy share and eat one I knew it must be tasty... and it was! Not to mention oh so much fun! Once I properly soaked it in drool I mushed it in my fingers and shook it in the air! Not only did I cover my face with biscuit, but my clothes, Mommy's clothes, my hair and some even got in my ear! Ah...

Sitting pretty.

Daddy says the color of my bib matches his Mommy's old Beetle named Buttercup... And to think of all the cats Daddy had growing up and a beetle too! I wish I had pets!

*Mommy's note*

Another extraordinary story about family. One that helps to define and inspire both love and hope...

Team Hoyt

This is my...

Well, I'm not quite sure... Her Daddy is Mommy's Daddy's youngest brother - Uncle Monte. Her name is Magdeline and she's 16 months old!

*sighing wistfully* Ahhh, to be able to push a shopping cart around and wreck havoc wherever I may go...

Pants on my head!

This is a picture of Mommy and me being silly and playing dress-up!

(Honestly, don't you think the butt frills add a touch of class to what would otherwise be a boring pink pants hat?)

a Girl and her duck

*singing very loudly* Rubber ducky, you're one! You make bathtime so much fun! Rubber ducky, I love you!

I'd like to thank the Academy...

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that I won! *shrieks* I'd like to thank my mom and dad for always supporting me (quite literally)! and Nanuk, my little big sister who is a welcome companion every day that Mommy makes the bed - you're great!, and Opa and Lola for helping me to develop my dancing and verbal skills, and Grandad and Grandma for all their love and encouragement - I miss you! and Auntie Kelsey and Auntie Laina, and Uncle John (who, by the way, provided me with my early exposure to video cameras) and Uncle Ed (who is aspiring to stand here one day as well for his fantastic work in films - please, hire him for your next movie)! Auntie Megan for caring for me when Mommy and Daddy go out, Archibald for my voice lessons and my first accompanist, Teresa the Turkey, Tom the Turtle, Frida the Firefly and Mr. Bun Bun - I love you guys! (40 seconds have passed; the orchestra starts playing) Martha the hippo, and Spike the Rhino my personal trainer, and Coco, and Chanel for my dress, and .... (54.5 seconds later, the orchestra plays a little louder) oh, and Noor for her kisses and Ni for his purrings and the time he let me grab his tail in order to feel his fur, and how could I forget Mimi - Auntie Kelsey's virtual hampster! and Ashley and Brooke for the conversations we had and the smiles, and Twin A and Twin B - I will always remember you both! and ... (43 seconds later the orchestra is deafening, but Nemmie is even louder) and my hairstylist, and all of those Target employees, and (Jon Stewart comes onstage)

Jon Stewart: Excuse me, Nemesia, but you've taken far too long. I may have to hit you over the head with a violin.
Nemesia: Um, that's okay. Anyway, I only have a few more to name...
Jon Stewart: No.
Nemesia: But--
Jon Stewart: Oh, wow, would you look at that, I think I see Maddox Jolie-Pitt sitting next to your seat!
Nemesia: *gasp* No way! Kay, well, thanks everyone! I really like my shiny new trophy! *sing song voice* Hiiii Maddox.... *tee hee!*

my red carpet moment...

Interviewer: Oh my goodness Nemesia, you look absolutely FABULOUS!! Who is your stylist?!?!
Nemesia: Well, my mother is actually the stylish one in the family, although I inherited some of her talent if I do say so myself. *preens*
Interviewer: Well, you look stunning.
Nemesia: Thanks! Oh, do you like my sequin purse? Isn't it oh so shiny???
Interviewer: Ah, yes, well... I'd like to congratulate you on your nomination for "Best Actress" in the movie Pride and Nemmie-ness. What was that like?
Nemesia: It was one of the best experiences of my (short) life! I had the opportunity to work with some of the best in the business. I just hope I win and they don't! Oops, did I say that out loud?
Interviewer: The best of luck to you!
Nemesia: Thanks!

*Mommy's note*

On the news this evening the story of a little girl and her family was featured. Though I did not know her, she touched me tremendously and her life will always be one that I shall remember and the strength of her parents one I will always strive toward.

Her name was Kaitlyn Schwarz and she was only two weeks older than Nemesia...

Happy Girl's Day!

Girl's Day is a holiday celebrated each year on March 3 in Japan!

So, here I am with my Japanese doll... (her name is Anh, by the way)... pretending to be Japanese... even though I'm not.... I am, however, wearing a lot of pink. Except for my shoes which are actually my polar bear house shoes.

Yay for girl's day! Next, St. Patrick's!

Peek-a-boo!

Mommy and I always play peek-a-boo, and I got really tired of her doing it every time, so I surprised her and peek-a-booed all by myself!
