"Take me out..."

I'm all dressed up with absolutely nowhere to go! How awful. My hat is so adorable, and it matches my pants. Where to go? It's much too cold. Oh, how I wish it was summer! Then I could wear my hat in the sun, and be nice and toasty. I can't believe that I ever refused to wear a hat, especially one as nice as this.

Polyester Princess

This is me wearing another one of Daddy's outfits. This time, however, it's to bed. And, I think that though it is the first time I have ever worn this it may be the last since its feeling a bit snug...

Hmmm, seeing myself in the mirror just now I think I make a cute boy!

Reading is fun!

As many of you know I love reading. (Or, more accurately, being read to.)

I have been reading for quite a few months now and have occasionally read along. But today I helped even more - I held up the left side of the book while Mommy read! I even lifted my thumb in order to hold down the pages as she turned them! I know, I know. You're thinking that this may just be a one time accidental thing but I did twice today!

p.s. And with regards to that whole bumper thing that both Mommy and Daddy were hoping wouldn't happen again.. it has! I've discovered that by scooting to the end of my crib and lifting the bumper I can project my voice considerably more and thus get a faster response time from the person who will pick me up. Ha-zah!

Peek-A-Boo

I awoke early from my nap this afternoon. I sang and talked with myself for awhile until deciding it was time to call Mommy. To her surprise and amusement when she came I had scooted (crawling is so overrated) to the end of my crib and was lifting the bumper in order to see her coming! I think Daddy is hoping that it's a trick I won't repeat or remember in case I want to play in the middle of the night...

new sensations

While eating lunch today I accidentally blew a raspberry with food still in my mouth. Though the outcome was a bit messy it felt rather neat! So, I tried it again. And then I stuck my finger in my mouth and did it again!

Daddy's clothes

This is me. Sporting some more of Daddy's clothing (or Uncle John's or Uncle Ed's) before heading out to the museum. I have a blue hair clip on just in case anyone should think I'm a boy.

Allergies

Mommy took me to the doctor yesterday. At first it was out of concern for what she initially thought was my eczema but then realized was a food allergy. And to make matters even worse she thinks my precious puffs are to be blamed!

So, bundled in some of Daddy's prior best, we went. Mommy felt awful after realizing what she had done! And though I gave her tons of smiles and plenty of drool it didn't seem to help. It was not until she spoke with one of the doctors and explained him why she thought it was a food allergy that she felt better. He told Mommy that she had been doing a splendid job of introducing foods to me and should in fact teach a class for some of the residents so that they might learn from her example! Just like Daddy always says, sometimes Mommy just needs to hear it from a stranger.

Well, after a very long day (we had to take Daddy to work and pick him up in order to see the doctor) I was sent to bed with some medicine. And yes, I am beginning to feel better. Thanks for the concern!

the Dancing Dinosaur

Lately I've taken up grunting and roaring. Mommy says I sound like a dinosaur. Daddy says I'm a new kind - a grrasaur!

One's a Crowd

Yes! A standing ovation for me!

I, Nemesia Margarite Fickle, have mastered the art of clapping my hands! Yeah! Now there's constant on demand applause.

After several days...

I fed myself a Gerber Veggie Puff today! It took quite a few tries and cries but with some help and encouragement I did it! Though none of it was easy, by all means, I was able to pick them up from my tray okay. It was trying to put it in my mouth while holding it in my fist that proved truly difficult. (And it was only more infuriating when either Mommy or Daddy would place it in my mouth while I was trying to on my own!)

When I did it for the first time on my own Mommy cried. How weird is that?

*A Gift From the Aunts*

In honor of your new tooth!

adopt your own virtual pet!

A first

My first tooth has come! It's not much to see yet but its there. Mommy is always fussing over me in an attempt to show Daddy where it is. A lot of times I just smile and cover it up with my tongue. Maybe one day there will be a picture of it here... I haven't quite decided yet.

Pure(ed) Vegetarian

I am now eating brown rice, green beans, mangos, peaches, pears, and raspberries! In the upcoming weeks I am scheduled to try lentils, potatoes, prunes, and spinach...

(Okay, okay. I gum on turkey feathers too. But I don't swallow!)

Continuous updates with regards to my progress and the highlights of the show will still be posted on this site. In addition my at home staff is also working on the possibility of future dvds (special thanks to Uncle One) so that you may relive all of these Muffin moments again and again!

(All proceeds made from the sale of said dvds will be used towards sweet potatoes. Operators are standing by...)

The camera adds 10 lbs.

Yes. Well. After several phone calls commenting on what seemed like a tremendous growth spurt on my part (it was the bear suit!) I would just like to assure everyone of my actual size.

So, without further ado... ME! Nakey!!!

Beartastic. Thanks to Uncle Ed.

Today Daddy, Mommy, and I walked a little bit around Lake Calhoun and played a little in the park! I wore my winter bear suit that Uncle Ed gave me and Mommy made sure I had a hat and gloves too. We climbed up and played in some of the neat and colorful houses there - I even rode on one of the bouncy things with Mommy's help!

One day, Mommy says, I'll be able to do it all by myself *sighing wistfully*...

Smurfin'

This afternoon Daddy, Mommy, and I went to Target in order to look at some of the clothing they had on sale for Daddy. Well, after finding a few things Mommy wanted to look at the new Global Bazaar section and Daddy happily obliged... All the while I was happily playing with and chewing on Mommy's necklace while she held me. And oh what a pretty (not to mention yummy) necklace it was! Pretty bright blue beading with more in the front covered in an even brighter blue crochet!

It was not until Mommy wiped some of my excess drool with her fingers and saw that they had turned blue that she realized I was blue too! My tongue, my lips, my chin, fingers, and the front of my shirt!

Sadly, this picture doesn't do me justice.

"S" is for sweet potatoes

I have begun my love affair with sweet potatoes and how sweet it is!

Daddy claims that I will be eating us out of house and home! (And if our home were constructed of sweet potatoes and bananas with apple sauce sticking everything together I would *drooling happily*...)

Mommy thinks that I must be going through a growth spurt with all that I have been eating as of late but it's only because I'm in love!

A new perspective on life : Part Two

Poop happens.

Today while Mommy was changing me in a public bathroom at the mall I began to cry. Not because of embarassment due to full exposure but because I was tired. Mommy, however, misunderstood. In an attempt to comfort me she told me that I was not alone in having to have my diaper changed. That even as the Leader of the Free World it was a necessity and one that I shared with many other great leaders. Just think - Gandhi, Lincoln, Elizabeth I, even Jesus, all of them had dirty diapers that needed to be changed. (Granted, they might not have had either Cookie Monster or Big Bird on the front of theirs but you get the idea...)

And so with that in mind I smiled and pooped some more. My lower half proudly on display as I chewed on one of my socks.

A new perspective on life

I have just realized the fun of leaning backwards while standing (as Mommy helps by holding me upright)!!! Looking at everything upside down is diapers full of fun!

Oh. I've also discovered the silky tags some of my friends sport close to their behinds and that's bottles of fun as well!

We need YOUR vote!!!

Pooh and Stormy were having a heated debate this afternoon whilst I was having my diaper changed as to which song was better... I, personally, am a very big fan of all three songs and so was unable to help the argument between my two close friends. (And such an argument was painful to see!) So, I thought I might ask all of you which one you think deserves the best song heard this year! (Granted that means the last five days but oh well... I, myself, am less than a year old!)

Is it...
1. A Boy Named Sue by Mr. Cash
2. Baby Beluga by Mr. Raffi
or
3. Let's Call the Whole Thing Off by Mr. Gershwin sung by Ms. Fitzgerald and Mr. Armstrong

You decide!

Free George!

I still prefer bananas, more than anything, and I think that is much to Daddy's chagrin... He complained last night while we were playing about my toots! (Of all things! He used to support and congratulate me!) Saying something about how I ate too much bananas and the smell of monkeys at the zoo...

Well, I've never been to the zoo. And since George is one of my personal heros to whom I look up to I take great offense!

*toot toot* Take that, Daddy!

Opples and Bononos

Well, after adjusting to our return home (and Mommy's daily persistence) I have begun eating apples, bananas, and cereal regularly now!

p.s. What do you think of my Dr. Seuss bib?!?!? Isn't it fab-u-lous!

My boat.

This is the bassinet Grandad and Gramma gave me when I was little. I used to sleep in it before I graduated to my crib. Now I play in it while Mommy does her chores around the apartment. Sometimes. like today, Mommy praises me for playing so well by myself... Silly, Mommy, I have Thersesa, Tom, AND Frida in her with me!

Local Wildlife

This a picture of the robust squirrel Mommy and I saw on our trip to the musuem the other day... I thought he might make a good friend for Mr. Bun-bun but all he wanted was my bananas and I wasn't willing to share.

Resolutions for me.

I figured that I should make some resolutions, since that's what you're supposed to do on New Year's.
  • Eat more solids
  • Treat my toys with respect
  • Bite my thumb less, and focus my chewing on toys, instead
  • Meet more babies
  • Learn to say da-da-da
  • Flirt less
